Innovative drainage to create 143 new homes across a 7 hectare site.
Bridge House Nursery will create 143 new homes in Allington, Maidstone upon a previously developed light commercial plot, and will comprise of 100 private homes, 31 affordable homes and 12 flats.
Bounded by the A20 London Road to the South West, National Rail lines to the North and a residential estate to the South East; whilst vast at 7 hectares the scheme poses extensive ecological and approval complications.
Tully De’Ath are providing Civil and Structural Engineering services site wide. Focus and innovative design is apparent across the schemes drainage design, utilising balancing ponds and deep bore soak-aways to attenuate and drain the SW run-off. Approvals include Maidstone, Malling and Tonbridge BC’s; whom have joint interest in the site, Network Rail; with soak-aways falling within their approval zones and Kent Highways who will be adopting both the highway and site wide SW systems.

nation and approvals are also being undertaken to create highways access on to the site, through modification to an existing signalised junction on the busy A20. The site is further complicated by limited FW capacity in the area and Tully De’Ath’s teams continue to liaise closely with local authority bodies to achieve the right solution for both their client and the statutory bodies.
