Tully De'Ath worked with Town & Country Housing Group and Denne Construction to redevelop Simmonds Court in Tunbridge Wells as part of a £4m project to revamp TCHG's sheltered housing.
The scheme, which was part funded by the Homes and Communities Agency, provides 33 new apartments following the demolition of the existing sheltered accommodation.
This Code Level 3 development, providing 27 two bedroom apartments and 6 one bedroom apartments, represents a change in approach to this form of accommodation, as it allows family members and carers to stay and assist in care provision.

Simmonds Court also offers a large common room, a communal kitchen, hairdressing salon and a sensory garden for the residents.
A sunken platform with adjacent biomass boiler pellet store was constructed in RC concrete, with the store base providing the crane base during construction.
The top floor flats are incorporated into the pitched roof. The roof was constructed from a steel frame using loose-cut rafters, timber, and top hat trusses. Stability was provided using steel moment frames spacing from external wall to external wall.
