Putney Green Re-Development

New two form entry primary school and luxury apartments.


The Putney Green redevelopment has utilised an inovative finance model to provide a two form entry Primary School through cross subsidy land release for a 24 unit apartment block, and is being undertaken in partnership between Wandsworth Borough Council and Durkan Estates.

The site occupies a prime 12000m2 plot adjacent to Putney Lower Common and replaces a dilapidated 1930’s hospital.

Tully De’Ath are providing Civil and Structural Engineering services in a collaborative BIM environment, utilising Revit 2015 to design a three storey framed school building; with play area on the roof. And a five storey framed apartment block with basement parking.

Through clever use of SUDs devices, including balancing ponds and attenuation, the team have halved the surface water drainage connections and avoided complex land ownership issues. Further value engineering has removed pumping requirements for both foul and surface water systems, also reducing long term maintenance issues.
