Hayes Manor School

Natural ventilation, lighting and rainwater harvesting

The design and build construction of two new school buildings over a contract period of 52 weeks. The first block consists of 3,300 sq m of new teaching facilities incorporating natural ventilation, natural lighting and rainwater recycling.

The project involved the construction of a new science, maths and technology block over three storeys. The second block is an Open Learning Centre, of around 900 sq m, which will be the 'flagship' front of house building to serve the school and the surrounding community.

'The first block consists of 3,300 sq m of New Teaching facilities incorporating natural ventilation, natural lighting and rainwater recycling.'

The exciting new facility was opened by Lord Andrew Adonis (Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Schools).

The building will comprise a school administration area, reception, Adult Education facilities, family learning centre, creche and quiet room, as well as housing two IT suites and a video conference room.
